The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy is continuing its campaign for the allocation of more government funding to peripheral neuropathy research.
Our representative in DC has been busy meeting with Senators and rallying our cause- more dollars for more research for better treatments and, one day, a cure.
He has asked that we reach out in particular to Senator Bill Cassidy to make him aware of the impact of peripheral neuropathy on patients’ lives – on your life- and how important it is to allow funding to be allocated to research on peripheral neuropathy!
May we ask your help in contacting Senator Cassidy to urge him to include peripheral neuropathy in the Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program? With Senator Cassidy’s endorsement, we have a chance for our research community to have access to new sources of federal research dollars.
Here is how you do it!
Go to Senator Cassidy’s website pages/online contact form here.
You will be asked to fill out a form with your name, address, and message. Where the form asks for your message, copy in:
Subject: Please include Peripheral Neuropathy for the PRMRP for 2020
As a constituent from (ADD YOUR STATE) with peripheral neuropathy, I am writing to request your support to include the designation of “peripheral neuropathy” among the disorders and conditions eligible for research funding under the Department of Defense’s Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP).
Affecting more than 20 million Americans, peripheral neuropathy refers to the many conditions that involve damage to the peripheral nervous system. Peripheral neuropathy is common among the veterans community, particularly those diagnosed with diabetes, hepatitis C, and HIV and those exposed to Agent Orange. TELL PERSONAL STORY HERE. I urge you to include “peripheral neuropathy” among the eligible PRMRP conditions and have this language included in the fiscal year 2020 Defense Appropriations Act.
Email Mark Vieth at firstname.lastname@example.org so he can follow up with the Senators in Washington D.C.
, this request is urgent! We need you to send your email to Senator Cassidy by Friday September 20, 2019
Please feel free to contact us at (877)883-9942 with any additional questions you may have.
Thank you for joining us in support of peripheral neuropathy research!
