Add your voice to FPN’s to encourage more government research spending on peripheral neuropathy

Your voice can help increase spending for research on peripheral neuropathy!

The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has initiated an advocacy program to promote more government spending on peripheral neuropathy research through a Defense Department Fund that supports medical research.

Each year, the United States Senate agrees on an annual Department of Defense (DOD) appropriations bill, which includes a list of conditions that are deemed ‘eligible for study’ through the Peer-Reviewed Medical Research program (PRMRP). In order for a condition to be included, senators need to officially ask for its inclusion in the program.

Senators have many competing requests for budget appropriations. The senator needs to understand the condition and be asked by constituents to include the condition in the budget before the senator will support a condition-specific request.

We need your help!

Please contact your two senators and urge them to include peripheral neuropathy in the DOD’s Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program so that our research community can have access to new sources of federal research dollars.

You can find a sample letter to use and other information on how to contact your senator by clicking here.

Please feel free to contact us at (877) 883-9942 with any additional questions you may have.

Thank you for joining us in support of peripheral neuropathy research.
