Summer web series

Our summer education series was a success! Were you one of over 2,700 participants that watched? We covered a variety of topics, from the basics of peripheral neuropathy, to healthy living, managing symptoms and advocating for PN research. We heard personal stories of resilience, and gleaned hope from those living fulfilling lives despite a PN diagnosis, and those working to ensure PN research gets more funding in the future.

With over 2,100 views already, you can check out the series for yourself, and broaden your understanding of PN and deepen your connection to our thriving community and organization.

NEPTUNE-17 trial for DPNP

If Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP) disrupts your daily life, consider joining the NEPTUNE-17 trial hosted by our partner, GSK. This study assesses a new investigational drug for DPNP, aiming to alleviate pain and improve quality of life.

Neuropathy: common and often undiagnosed

Neuropathy, which can cause pain and numbness in hands and feet, is prevalent but frequently goes undiagnosed. A study found that 73% of participants had neuropathy, with 75% of those cases previously unrecognized. Neuropathy, often linked to diabetes and metabolic syndrome, increases the risk of falls, infections, and even amputations. Early detection and treatment are crucial to improve quality of life and reduce complications.

Nerve decompression shows promise

Surgical nerve decompression, used to treat conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica, could play a role in relieving the pain of diabetic neuropathy patients, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center found.
