Patient Resources and Patient Education
When most patients are diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, it is the first time that they have heard of the condition. For a condition that impacts over 30 million people in the United States and millions more around the world, it is fairly unknown, until it becomes part of someone’s life; either because of their own diagnosis or that of a loved one. The complexity of diagnosis and treatment, the number of causes of the condition, and the lack of a definitive cure only complicate the search for answers.
Through our programs and communications, the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy (FPN) aims to be the premier resource for information on peripheral neuropathy for patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare providers.
FPN’s Patient Education Programs:
Our Website: The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy leads the way in patient education and support via a comprehensive website. Ranging from informative articles to helpful tips to patient testimonials, the website provides substantial resources for patients and medical practitioners. Our news blogs provide an ongoing source of information on current topics related to lifestyle, research, and treatments. Our Media Library houses all of our newsletters, brochures, and recordings and presentations from our webinars and conferences. Recently updated, we hope that you will find this website to be helpful in your search for answers.
Our Newsletters and Email Communications: On an annual basis, our network of email subscribers and Premium Members receive approximately 50 mailings per year, filled with research news and life management tips related to peripheral neuropathy. Our newsletters provide current information to our patients, offering options and opportunities for living the best life they can despite this dreaded condition. Our network has representation in all 50 states of the US, as well as in Canada and select countries around the world.
Our Patient Webinars: In 2020, we launched a new Patient Education Webinar Series with subject matter experts as presenters and live Q&A sessions to bring more information to patients in an easily accessible manner. The webinars are recorded and made available on our website for future viewing.
Other Programs: FPN organizes other programs from time to time such as patient conferences and other educational outreach.
