FPN Continues to Move Forward

An Update from the President

November 7, 2017

As President of the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy, I can’t wait to share several exciting recent developments with all of you.

First, our patient conference on October 21 was a great success. Featuring five speakers from the fine medical faculty at Northwestern University, more than 200 attendees (in person and via livestream) heard interesting presentations on the use of opioids, clinical research, advances in pharmacological treatment and pain management techniques – all topics of great importance to the PN community. A far-ranging Q&A rounded out the event. [If you haven’t already and are interested in doing so, please login to the Foundation’s website and watch the event broadcast!]

Second, we bid farewell to Marlene Dodinval, our Executive Director, as she moved on to accept a much sought after position of great personal interest. During Marlene’s 3 ½ years with the FPN, including the last year as our Executive Director, we made great progress on many fronts.

Third, we are so fortunate that Lindsay Colbert, who joined us early this year as Director of Development and Marketing, has agreed to immediately take over the added responsibilities of Executive Director. We are confident that Lindsay’s demonstrated leadership and enthusiasm – as shown by her stewardship of the recent patient conference – will continue to move the FPN forward. We plan to bring on a new development/marketing director very soon – enhancing our capabilities in these key areas.

Your support of the Foundation, of course, is critical to our ability to bring you the information and research to cope with the challenges faced by persons living with PN. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy continues to move forward, but we can’t do it without you!

Lou Mazawey, FPN Board of Trustees President
